Thru-Wall Construction is a single-source firestop contractor serving the Boston area. Our team of trained professionals acts as a single point of contact for hospitals, campuses and commercial facilities seeking to ensure that every fire and smoke barrier is sealed to code at all times, especially following plumbing, electrical or other invasive work.

Thru-Wall is led by J. Downey, who brings to the business more than twenty years of experience in all facets of commercial construction  from estimating and field operations to safety. This experience yields a deep understanding of how fire barrier gaps are created and how to best remedy them. Having met UL Qualification and FM 4991 Approval requirements, J. serves as our Designated Responsible Individual. J. was also the first person in Massachusetts to receive the Certified Fire & Egress Door Assembly Inspector (CFDAI) accreditation from DHI.

In addition to thorough knowledge of firestop technologies, relevant codes and industry best practices, Thru-Wall takes pride in its high level of customer service. We recognize the importance of clear communication and prompt attention to all fire barrier projects, including temporary measures to seal penetrations until permanent repairs can be made.

Unlike many contractors in this field, Thru-Wall crews also provide full service construction capabilities from demolition work to framing, ceiling, drywall, doors and hardware installation.
